Electronic Prescribing
Illegible handwriting leads to dispensing errors, which can, in some cases,
radically impact patient safety.
Electronic prescribing, or e-prescribing generates prescriptions using electronic
devices, eliminating the need to write a prescription manually. These prescriptions
can be transmitted electronically to the patient’s pharmacy, or printed and
provided to the patient, greatly reducing the risk of dispensing errors.
E-prescribing must be powered by comprehensive, up-to-date, and user-friendly
drug content to gain user-acceptance and to avoid unintended errors. We have
